Outpatient clinic financial motivation model

The care team is rewarded when a patient completes the prescribed treatment pathway inside the clinic. Set the pathway modules, the roles and their shares — the calculator shows the motivation per course, the incentive fund, the payout per employee and the workload.

Treatment pathway

Prescription modules in the order they are done. Cost is the row total for all its visits. The cap and the role shares are in % of the row cost; shares over the cap are highlighted.

Team roles

Who takes part and how many of them. The lead physician guides the patient through the whole course and holds a share of every module.

Course cost structure

Role shares and the clinic's remainder in the cost of one course along the pathway

Example

Simplified typical funnel

A separate simplified example below the pathway calculation: the average course price is set here and need not match the pathway cost.

New patients start a course every month. When a course lasts several months, several such cohorts are treated at the same time and the course payment is spread over the months: revenue and the fund per month stay the same, while the number of active patients per employee grows.

Payouts and workload per month

Role payout per month and per course, per employee, and active course patients per employee. Illustrative figures: amounts rounded to 100 ₽, workload to whole patients.

Sensitivity

The fund and the payouts per month at 0 to 100 % of courses fully completed; in steady state they do not depend on the course duration. Workload by course duration. The dashed line is the current value.

The idea of the model

The model is illustrative: the scenario figures are a hypothetical example, not market data. The calculation is not a pay recommendation, HR or legal advice; pay systems and employer charges are governed by the law of the country and the employer's internal rules.
